Born on the island of Cyprus, also known as the island of Aphrodite, Hare Tahir began her artistic journey with an early education in English. Her childhood, marked by curiosity and a deep connection to nature—from insect collections to Sunday trips to the countryside—laid the foundation for her creative spirit.

During her years in London, where she completed her studies in Business and Fine Arts, she moved from being “her father’s princess” to a citizen of the world, discovering the vast diversity of life. After settling in Istanbul, she worked in the studios of renowned masters such as Yusuf Taktak, Mustafa Horasan, Orhan Taylan, and Ekrem Kahraman. Under Orhan Taylan’s mentorship, she mastered Renaissance techniques, while her collaboration with Ekrem Kahraman led her to explore identity, the sense of belonging, and the awareness of creating one’s own window into life.

Guided by a humanist and idealist lifestyle, she has organized creative design workshops for women and children under UNICEF and volunteered as an art teacher for inmates at Metris Prison through the Hope for Children Foundation. Currently residing between Cyprus and Istanbul, Hare Tahir continues to write as a columnist for Yenidüzen Newspaper and pursues her art and business ventures passionately.

The Little Girl in My Dreams

“Sometimes we feel so exhausted… We see difficulties piling up one after another. It’s easy to dismiss it by saying ‘that’s life,’ but later we realize that everything happens for a reason.”

“I accepted reality only when the knees of the rebellious and fierce little girl inside me were covered in scars. Our first instinct in the face of hardship is often self-pity. Yet, the secret lies here: The Creator never gives a burden greater than one can bear. This is not ‘playing Polyanna’; it is acceptance and surrendering before the Divine.”

“Imagine a fire… The more logs you throw into it, the more magnificently it burns. The difficulties in our lives are just like those logs; they allow our inner fire to burn with more passion and strength. A human being stands tall through their convictions and their faith.”
